as soon as he pulled on his pants, and buckled his belt around his waist, chip opened the door, expecting his jacket to be on the ground, forgotten by chip's wandering hand.
instead, it was nowhere to be found, and chip stepped out of the bathroom, looking around. it couldnt've walked off by itself, clothes didn't fuckin' do that.
hearing a snicker, he turned, and standing there near the stairs, wearing chip's own coat and hat, stood gillion, a pleased look on his face.

“i don’t care about any of that,” chip waved his hand, dismissing both of their ideas. “but you’re right, i guess. i just don’t really remember ever celebrating on the black rose. the only place i remember celebrating is-” he broke off, a sour taste in his mouth and a bitter feeling twinging inside his heart.
“all the more reason to make new memories,” chirped gillion, clapping him on the shoulder. “shall i teach you some undersea traditions? maybe you’d find them more favourable, and learn to celebrate once more.”

the blinds in the room were open, and the sun was beginning to peek through the trees and the grass, filtering into the room with a golden colour, illuminating the person at the piano –the person, kuboyasu realised, with a sigh of relief, not the ghost– and their head was bowed over the piano, as if there was no music in front of them and they were playing from memory alone.
and kuboyasu’s eyes widened slightly as he realised just who was playing the piano this early in the morning, head bent, feet pressed gently against the pedals of the instrument.
