Drawing insights from the recovered¹ ship logs of HMS Erebus and Terror, particular emphasis will be placed on the expedition's challenges—environmental, navigational, psychological, and preternatural.

And what, exactly, was Edward to do with the offer in the sergeant’s carefully worded reply?

He raised his hands, about to yank at his own hair, but stopped when he felt Cornelius’s hand lift on the other end of the chain. “We can’t go to the town hall like this.”
Cornelius smiled. “Why not?“

It’s a second too long to be chaste, and Ned feels the barest flicker of tongue against his lips before the preacher pulls back, taking his smell of incense and tobacco with him.
