Merlin, Prince of Dracaneard, only meant to go visit Camelot in secret so he could see the land of prophecy and meet his uncle. He really didn’t intend to save Prince Arthur’s life or be given a job as his manservant for the trouble.
But it’s a good way to get to know the prince who is prophesied to unite Albion and bring back magic by Merlin’s side, isn’t it? And it’s not as if Arthur knows that his newest servant is the crown prince to Camelot’s enemy.
Surely, this won’t turn ten shades of complicated all too soon.

Summary
‘Welcome back to Ealdor, Arthur.’
‘Merlin,’ Arthur all but whispers.
Merlin's heart lurches and before he can fully process the moment, Arthur pulls him into a fierce hug — the strength of which catches him off guard. Then, just as suddenly, Arthur pulls away and, without another word, steps into the castle, leaving Merlin alone on the castle steps.
He sighs as he watches Arthur disappear into the depths of the castle, knowing only one thing for certain: it is going to be a long week.
Prince Merlin returns to the Kingdom of Ealdor after five long years away to discover his mother has arranged his marriage to Princess Morgana of Camelot (as was planned by both kingdoms almost two decades ago). With wedding preparations in full swing, will Merlin accept his fate and marry out of duty or will the resurgance of feelings for his childhood sweetheart disrupt everything?
