"Do you think you could kill me?"
Suguru's pencil scritches against fresh paper. "Probably not with Infinity."
"Do you think you could try it?" he replies, as if he'd practiced this a million times prior.
"I'd rather not get executed, if that's what you're asking."
"But do you think you would want to?"
Ripping a post-it note from the clean stack on his desk, Suguru crumples it up and lets it hurtle towards Satoru's forehead. The yellow ball falls onto his best friend's lap. "Don't you have any work to do? What's with all the questions?"
"Dunno," Satoru replies, fiddling with the thing in his hands. "Just wondering."
Satoru has a terrible habit of asking Suguru theoreticals. Suguru doesn't think he'd mind it, if only he would stop asking the same one over and over again.

I wished I had highlighted some quote to make my future self re-read it but I was so invested reading to stop that now I say to future me you should simply re-read it and experience this all over again trust me. The writing is so beautiful, I felt my heart contracting with each word I read. The way Alhaitam's love and admiration can be felt is so AAAAAAAAAA and beautiful and I don't have the words in me to describe it just it was amazing

He holds his tongue,a decision that was well made, the boy flinches back, just slightly and glares up at Satoru warily. The disarray of his wings extends to his hair, and down into his pale face, smeared with exhaustion and hunger.
