Summary
Maybe Stradlater wasn’t such a jerk. After all, Holden could get along with him from time to time. Perhaps he wasn’t all that bad.
And perhaps Stradlater shared a rather mutual feeling towards Holden—realizing that he didn’t despise the guy as much as he thought he did.
But neither of them had not a single clue in the world that putting up with one another would result in the two of them falling in love, through some weird, destined fate.
Nobody said that any of that would be easy, however.

“Making flapjacks for the cats, (who he now considered not only allies, but also friends), was now apart of his daily routine these days. Hell, he wasn’t even all that afraid of Pierre anymore. In fact, he liked—maybe even loved having him around ever so often. And all of this was amazing, and could continue being amazing, if not for the simple reality that Yumyan was now gone.
Sure, he wasn’t truly gone, and he wasn’t even dead either. But now he was smaller by several feet, barely did anything all day, and he just wasn’t.. Yumyan anymore. At least, that’s how Troy saw it.”
