"It's going to be a bad night," Neil explains, tone apologetic. He hasn't had one in a while, and they don't sleep apart even when they know it's going to be a bad night for either of them, but Neil can tell this is going to be one of his worst. "I can stay out here tonight."
Andrew's eyes flicker down to his ankle and he frowns.
"How many times am I explaining this to you? You aren't sleeping out here," Andrew says flatly. Neil doesn't think he's going to be able to sleep, knowing the nightmare this whole scenario is going to bring forth. He doesn't say it, already thinking of something else he can use to try and persuade Andrew, but Andrew shifts on his feet and then crouches, leaning into Neil's space. "Neil. You are going to sleep in the bedroom."
Three nightmares, three different nights.

“Do tell him that we have enjoyed watching his team’s success in the American league, perhaps if he had joined Day’s team, he would have won the championship.”
The translator’s lips twitched at the comment. “Petra wants you to know how much they have enjoyed watching your team’s success in the American leagues.”
Andrew waits for the rest of the comment to follow. The translator seems set on editing, unfortunately. “Are they paying you well to play diplomat?”
The comment is out before he can stop it. It seems to take the translator by surprise and his mouth twitches into a barely contained grin.
“A certain amount of discretion is expected to keep international relations happy, yes.”
Andrew is intrigued by his honesty. “Tell them that Day would pitch a fit if he knew they found time to watch another countries Exy team. If you have time to watch than you have time to practice, after all.”
He translates perfectly with a smirk at being called out. Andrew watches him closely. If asked, he would say that this man posed a threat. In reality, he enjoyed the way he hadn’t backed down when being caught out.
“Why am I here if you speak the language?” The translator asks in English.

In the spring of their freshmen year at Palmetto, Aaron finally approached the subject, cornering Andrew in their shared kitchen and laying out his terms. He was not expecting Andrew’s counteroffer: sessions with Dobson once a week and an understanding that if anything happened with Katelyn, Andrew would step in.
Thoughts of Katelyn, of not having to hide her anymore, took up all the space in Aaron’s mind and he never wondered why Andrew would have relented so easily.
