Summary
The room in front of him dances. The edges of his vision start to disappear, black spots covering up his peripheral. Ben feels tired. He’s lived so long, he’s done just about every drug, tried every type of person on God’s green earth. And from the looks of it, the idiot currently choking him is going to turn the world into even more of a shitshow than it already is. So, instead of struggling, he lets it happen. He doesn’t know if he could beat the kid if he wanted to, but if this is how he dies so be it. As long as it is not the box, he would take true oblivion any day over living forever...
But then his senses clear, he twitches his fingers and forces his heavy eyelids to open. Instead of meeting his maker, or seeing the flickering depths of hell, he blearily recognises a room he hasn’t seen in nearly 50 years.

AKA: Time travel fix-it where Soldier Boy decides to try to be good for the first time in his life and raises Homelander. This changes everything.

After being kicked from the Seven, Vought has had radio silence from the Deep for a long time. Homelander is sent on assignment to Sandusky to see what's going on with him - a man that he called his friend - though, Homelander is sure that Deep is perfectly fine. He doesn't need help. Homelander has better things to do.
