He steps closer, taking Megumi’s free hand into his own. He intertwines their fingers and says in the gentlest voice possible, “Please, Megumi. I won't let you fall, I promise.”
Over the years, Yuuji has grown slightly taller than Megumi—just by a few centimeters, so it's barely noticeable. When Megumi tilts his head up, the wind blows the short of his hair right into his cheek. The black contradictingly complements the red on his face where vibrancy meets natural sophistication—so much so that it makes him look like the most perfect piece of art Yuuji has ever laid eyes on. Megumi is so beautiful like this, his Megumi.
Megumi sucks the insides of his cheeks and clutches Yuuji’s hand tightly. “Once. I'll try once, but if I don't like it—”
“I know, I know.” Yuuji uses his free hand to brush the hair off of his face. “I know, baby.”
(OR: Megumi is a man who's known too many losses. Yuuji doesn't intend to be one of them.)

Summary
All of a sudden, the boy who he previously mistook for Sukuna is now the one consoling and comforting him. Megumi wants to sink into his own shadow and just stay there forever. Guilt consumes every bone in his body, and it does not feel great.
Megumi closes his eyes, and this time, he doesn’t see Sukuna. The only thing he can sense is Itadori’s hands squeezing his. He can’t hear anything, he can’t see anything. He just feels Itadori.
“Fushiguro.” Another squeeze. And—Itadori seems to love calling Megumi’s name as if they’re not the only two in the room. He’s absolutely ridiculous.
“What?”
“Can you look at me?”

Summary
It’s more often than not that Megumi gets to watch Yuuji while he’s sleeping: the way his facial features turn soft, and the way his chest rises and falls after every breath he takes. He looks vulnerable. Anybody could sneak up on him and attack him— take him out somehow. And Megumi—
Well, he’s hungry, alright. It doesn’t help that he can hear the way Yuuji’s heart slowly pumps out blood to feed his entire body. It doesn’t help that he can hear the way his blood rushes through his veins underneath his skin. It doesn’t help that Yuuji smells so unbelievably good right now, for he is not a normal human. The way his neck is so bare—so exposed. It’s tempting, almost too tempting.
OR: There are certain decisions Megumi has no influence over (with references to The Picture of Dorian Gray).

Suddenly, lidded green eyes were far too close, noses bumping with every breath they sucked in together. Minty toothpaste and mouthwash burned his nose, clinging tightly to Megumi’s every exhale. He knew he would taste the same, tingly and just on the edge of painful. Yuuji tried to connect their lips a few times, each time Megumi was faster. Soft pink mouth stayed just out of reach, torturous. A lilting laugh was pulled from Megumi’s lips when Yuuji made his displeasure known around a whine that got stuck in his throat.
“What’s the matter, Tiger?” He smirked, letting his lips drag across the scar at the corner of Yuuji’s own, dodging when he turned his head to try to connect them. “Something you want from me?”
“A kiss, Megumi. Please.”

Megumi opens his mouth, but no words come out. His voice sticks in his throat and chokes him. The silence stretches on; Nobara stops her tapping.
"Megumi," she says slowly. "Then what happened?"

Summary
The temple was peaceful today. It always looked the most beautiful on sunny spring days. The smell of flowers wafted through the halls on the breeze, carrying with it sweet perfumes and melodies of the wind chimes and bells. The shadows from the buildings painted intricate pictures across the walkways and interior rooms. Each building shone brightly, like they were beacons to some being looking down from the heavens. A cry that they were here, that they were waiting to be visited. When you walked past the shrine, prayers chanted to the skies drifted through the air, nourished the flowers, and made the crystalline blue stretching out far above their heads brighter.
At least that’s what someone more poetic than Fushiguro may have thought. To him, it was a simple spring day. Nothing more.
“I can feel you staring,” Gojo sing-songed. “Something you want to ask me, Megumi?”
Fushiguro tensed. “I was just thinking about how weird you are.”
“Today is a glorious day,” he sighed, smile tugging at his lips. “Today, our god is reborn.”
