Jo Davidson hated Kate Fleming. She really did. Something about the woman just got under her skin, rubbed her the wrong way. She didn’t know if it was those two inches height difference, just enough to make her tilt her chin to meet the other woman’s gaze, or the other woman’s voice, with its Midlands lilt, always quick with a quip. She was just insufferable.
-Which is why it was surprising to find herself pinned by the other woman’s body against the cold brick wall of the hotel, dimly lit by the glow of the car park next to them, the exposed skin of her back scraping against it as Kate moved to press hot kisses to her throat.
Jo and Kate should be inside making embarrassing speeches and laughing at Steve and Lomax busting their moves on the dance floor, filling their roles as Maid of Honour and Best Woman. Instead, they are round the back of the hotel, fucking against the wall like teenagers.
