Summary
Lifting the brand over the fire pit until it’s white-hot, Megatron gives Starscream a small moment to brace himself before pressing it to his left wing.
The sharp, terrible sizzling noise as the brand meets Starscream’s wing calls to a softer part of Megatron: the part of him that was once D-16, its shadow still alive deep in his spark. It tells him to stop, and to soothe–this one has already pledged his fealty, earlier, when he leaned against Megatron’s frame, clinging to life through sheer force of will.
The part of him that is now Megatron doesn’t allow his hands to sway. He has a world to conquer, and there will be no place for weakness on the road ahead; not of frame nor of spark. Instead he allows himself to feel respect for the seeker submitting himself to this ordeal with an amount of willpower matching his own.

Summary
A space bridge accident strands both Optimus Prime and Starscream on an unknown planet, filled with mechanical monsters. Once Starscream decides that immediately stabbing Optimus in the back is a bad idea, the two form an uneasy alliance. Just until they can get off this hostile world.
But cooperation breeds grudging appreciation (and even more grudging attraction). Each uncovered secret on this mystery world brings them closer to returning to endless war. Can they keep fighting as if nothing has changed? Or will they take the chance for something new?
