Karl Jacobs is a time traveler, and one of the dimensions he often finds himself in is the Inbetween. However, every time he's there, he senses a lonely presence. It's one of the only details of the Inbetween he can remember consistently. So, he sets off one day with two goals in mind: find and help whoever he keeps sensing is there, and don't forget himself or the interaction. Needless to say, he didn't expect that lonely presence to become a friend, the only one that understands what he's going through.

Gillion keeps thinking about it, in the days after Chip and Jay made their midnight offer. He's always been somewhat aware of their physical relationship, even before the three of them became lovers in the truest sense—the ship isn't that big, and his barrel at the time wasn't that good at blocking the sounds of their pleasured voices. But the thought of joining them is…new. Of course, he's been there before and after—gentle caresses, kissing them as tension grows thicker and then returning to help clean them up and curl up under the covers after.
He's not altogether interested in sex. He doesn't crave the physicality of it the way his lovers do, and his roving gaze of their bodies is in simple appreciation and not lust.
But he can't deny the growing seed of curiosity in him. What is it like, to be so intimate with another? To watch their eyes grow hazy with pleasure, and to be loved in such a physical way? He's no stranger to physical intimacy in other ways—the three of them regularly patch each other up after battles, and help to bathe each other—but never anything in this realm past simple kisses and light caresses.

An endlessly looping office in a building that shouldn’t exist. A voice telling a story about a man named Stanley - never deviating, never changing, coughing painfully in a way that proves it’s no recording. Something isn’t quite right here: Stanley is missing memories, with no idea how he arrived or how to leave.
