Summary
After his enlistment, Yoon Jeonghan was handed two options, either carry out his contract with the rest of Seventeen and promote as part of a subunit while he waits for the rest of his family to be reunited, or start promoting as a soloist in the meantime. He chose neither, running as far away from the spotlight as he can manage while he's recovering from burnout. He booked a flight to America and hasn't looked back, convinced that if he just road trips around the place he'll get whatever this is out of his system. So what if the messages from his members are nearing into the hundreds because he never talked to them about this? He's got this under control, right? Right?
Joshua knew he had a plan in life: marry his high school sweetheart, have two point five kids and eventually take over as minister from his father in their small town. He'd already failed the first two parts, and the sudden appearance of Yoon Jeonghan, a self proclaimed idol whose car broke down in Joshua's small town threatens his fate in carrying out the last part of his plan.

There’s muffled yelling that Chan can’t decipher and then Jeonghan continues. “I think that after just one-week Seungkwan would’ve resorted to throttling Chan in public and they would break up after two.”
“That is not true,” Seungkwan hisses.
“It’s not!” Chan hisses back.
“We could totally date!”
“We could!”
“And we wouldn’t break up in two weeks!”
“We wouldn’t!”
“They don’t know us,” Seungkwan says, still keeping his voice low.
“No, they don’t!”
“We have to prove them wrong.”

Seungkwan and Chan feel the need to prove to their friends that they would be a good couple, despite the fact that they don't have feelings for each other. But it turns into something much bigger than either of them anticipated.

Joshua trusts Hansol, in a weird way. Joshua isn't the type to so blindly trust anyone, he's a doctor after all. It's in his nature to check and double check even the most assured opinions to make sure it's really the best one. His diligence is what so many of his professors and supervisors said was one of his best qualities. But he trusts Hansol, implicitly. Maybe it's because he's got so little experience in the field of magic that it makes him sure Hansol's opinion is of the utmost authority.

All smug assurances, cocky confidence that says that he knows that he's good and no one else is going to tell him different. Something Jihoon's already seen firsthand. "I couldn't help myself and then I found out I was damn good. I couldn't stop, still can't. There's just something about it."
Jisoo meets Joshua here in this cafe and suddenly the pieces slide into place. It's not so hard to reconcile the two parts of Joshua anymore.
