Strangely it was Jonathan that noticed first months ago, by watching from a distance when picking up Will, or dropping him off. Noticing the small concealed flinches, or tense shoulders whenever someone was too close, too loud, had a hand held too high.
Will was next, likely due to Jonathan probing him, questioning about who the red headed girl that was now hanging around with them was.
She was truly thankful to them both now.

Instead, she thinks of Ohio. Music and warmth and a house brimming with life.
Natalia is gone. Blown to death with Dreykov in his office and left to burn like all the parts of her they stole.
Natasha can do as she pleases. Sit on porch swings and drink tea from ridiculous mugs with chipped rims and all shaped like animals. Listen to old rock on the radio as her alabaster skin burns under the sun, pulling at the weeds and planting seeds in the dirt. She smiles.
“Whatever I want, with whoever I want to do it with.”
