Summary
Just 30k words of pining, angst, and guilt. I don't know why I was so inspired to write this, but here we are! Somewhat canon-compliant teen Sam and young adult Dean over the course of several years. Sam's POV throughout. I wrote Cold Water in 2013 and started the sequel almost immediately, but never finished it. Ten years later, I caught a wild hare and decided to change that.
Cold Water takes place around the years of middle school to freshman or sophomore year of high school for Sam. This can be read as a stand-alone fic and maintains a PG/PG-13 rating more for the emotional damage than anything else.
Collapse takes place around senior year of high school for Sam. All of the filth that I didn't put into Cold Water can be found here. Explicit rating for sex, but there is also some canon-typical violence.
Completed as of July 2023. Might write a timestamp or two in the future if I'm feeling spicy.

The mer arranges himself with his head tilted just a bit, one arm folded across himself and his other hand at his face to slowly drag a thumb across his lower lip. There’s a hint of a smile there and a sly glint in his eyes, and he tilts his head up, thumb dragging his lip down and showing a hint of those deathly sharp pearls behind before letting it pop back into place. Hizashi’s smile widens, and Shouta almost thinks he knows exactly what he’s doing.
There’s no way it’s not purposeful, right?

This is good, though, an opportunity to treat this with a modicum of professionalism – it’s just a quirk; they’ve helped each other through varying degrees of effects over the years. This doesn’t have to be any different. They’ll just do what needs to be done to get through it.
It’s just a quirk. They’re pros. It doesn’t have to be awkward.
