Summary
After the war- after their ascension- Jayce and Viktor thought that was the end of things. Hilariously naive of them, in hindsight.
They spent decades floating in the Arcane, watching the fallout of everything bleed from the sister cities and infect the rest of Runeterra in ways they never could have predicted. They fought for their world however they could- but at some point, their ruined world was beyond saving.
They needed to go back. They needed to start over. Their consciousnesses would possess their younger selves, and put an end to their 'Hextech Dream' before catastrophe struck.
But the Arcane is unpredictable. Uncooperative. And it forced them to share a mind with someone just as uncooperative, but they could salvage this. They'd show everyone the future that can never be.

Vi had spent all day thinking the heist was a bust. Thankfully, Powder held on to some gems she found in the apartment!
But when Vi touched them, an arc of electricity shocked the fuck out of her hand.
Now there are two voices in her head screaming at her about "Hextech" and "the end of the world". And they won't shut up.
People were right, she needed to stop getting hit in the face.

“Viktor, how old are you?” Jayce asked, seemingly out of nowhere.
“Twenty-eight.” Viktor furrowed his brow, confused as to why that mattered. It dawned on him a moment later. He gasped, “You aren’t.”
“I’m thirty-two.”
‘You look older’ was something Viktor didn’t say on account of having manners. He thought it though. Regardless; the sudden age difference between them explained a lot. The realization he came to wasn’t pleasant.
Somehow, this barren wasteland was his future.

Viktor finds the line between love and obsession at the end of the world, then proceeds to trip on it.

Something strange has just happened, and for some reason no one wants to tell him what, exactly, that is.
A standalone companion story to “Prove to Me I’m Not Gonna Die Alone”. You don’t have to read the other story to enjoy this one.

He hears a huff, and he doesn't need to look at Jayce to know he is smiling. "I think we will be able to see it soon enough"
OR
After a year working on hextech, Viktor is sent into the future by the arcane, a future where he meets an older version of Jayce, one that has just fulfilled the promise of killing Viktor at the commune.

Meanwhile Viktor, twenty-two years old, figures that hey, as long as he can research magic, this isn’t too bad of a predicament.
Or: Post-Season 2 Jayce and Season 1 Viktor, the grief of having lost your soulmate while having to look at his younger version who doesn’t even know you, the endless exhaustion of being a second-hand love and also science.

Jayce rubs his temples, glancing between the different diagrams of the anomaly. “Right, just to clarify: you’re saying that a version of me from the future appeared, destroyed our lab, tried to kill you and then demanded you blow up the Hexgates. And you actually want to do it. Am I missing anything?”
Viktor hesitates, before throwing caution to the wind. Unreserved honesty will prevent any miscommunication later. “You also kissed me.”
Jayce’s head whips around. “I— What?”
“You - he - kissed me. And…” Viktor trails off, gesturing vaguely - uncertain of how much he should reveal. He’s always seen sex rather candidly, never understanding Piltover’s insistence on maintaining taboo; but out of consideration for Jayce, it seems polite to keep the details to himself.
His hand motion must convey more than enough. Jayce flushes from the crown of his head to his Adam’s apple, and buries his face in his hands.

She had seen many demons before, usually incoherent or so possessed by bloodlust, greed, and mania. But Spite was different.
Often during the nights, as she lay restlessly in her bed awaiting sleep, she would think of the first time he had taken over Lucanis’ body. The purple glow to his eyes and his voice so, so different. Not smooth like the Antivan Crow, a harsh rasp—and it had sounded wholly possessive, hungry when he had called for her. If it weren’t for Taash’s presence - guarding the door and the Eluvian - she knew that he would’ve approached her, seeing the way he had instinctively stepped towards her.
Moth to flame, she had mused in that moment, when she felt the desire to do the same.

"Rook has a tattoo," and Spite won't let it go. It's enough to drive Lucanis up a wall. He's trying to focus on the gods, the fight, anything but the other crow in the Lighthouse. It's bad enough she haunts his dreams even when he desperately tries to avoid sleep. But she's got a tattoo, and if he doesn't see it soon, Spite will drive him insane.
Problem being no one will tell him what it is... or why Viago knows what it looks like... Or why Spite is determined to rat his helpless romantic self out to the woman he dreams of kissing.
Guess he'll just have to see it for himself.
