Summary
LJ DCBB 2013. It’s been nineteen years since the beginning of the Last War, and the Alliance Army is losing land faster than it can supply good men to defend it. Their hope is the synthesis of Android Angeles, a series of humanoid machines designed without the capacity to feel, and thus enabling them to be the perfect super soldiers. In order to check their battle suitability, the first prototypes are sent down with a landing party of the men they will later replace, and Sergeant Dean Winchester is paired with Unit 5284-C-S-T-L for the assignment. Cas, as Dean nicknames him, is easy enough to work with - once you get past the emotional vacancy and blatant disregard for human life, that is - but as the squad's tour goes on, Dean gets to wondering whether the Android Angeles are really as unfeeling as he's been told, or if the fear of a reality in which malfunctioning prototypes will be shut down is too great for them to exist any other way.

in an unnamed, perpetually rainy city on the east coast, something haunts dean and cas’ apartment. they’d like to pretend they don’t know what’s living in the space between them, but feigned ignorance can only keep them above water for so long.
something happened nine months ago. something they don’t talk about.
but the things people don’t talk about often find ways to speak for themselves, whether dean and cas are ready to pay their dues or not. the rain is an unforgiving entity, and as it continues to pervade the city; as it seeps into their already cold bones, they can feel the ocean rising around them, leaving them choking not on just what happened nine months ago, but what they’ve come to mean to each other since then.

Summary
Of course it wasn’t over after the apocalypse.
There was season six. Then there was season seven. Against all expectations, there was season eight. There were the alphas and purgatory, and then the Leviathans, and then the angels fell. Enter season nine. Loose threads Metatron, Abaddon, and Crowley have to be tied up. Sam, Dean, and Cas have to try to tie them while at the same time dealing with their evolving relationships and newfound graceless states.
Amidst all the chaos, someone has started publishing the Supernatural novels again. Convinced there’s something amiss in the pages, Charlie starts her own quest to suss out the truth behind the Winchester Gospels.
With the help of various faces, old and new, they must now not only deal with the typical runs of demons and recently fallen angels, but also reconcile the battles raging inside themselves, as the fate of the world, once again, quite literally lays in the palm of their hands.

Then, like all things worthwhile; they grow.
While not always in the same direction, neither one of them seem willing to let go of the friendship they once shared. Of course, when Dean gets to the beach, there's still a couple hundred screaming children to contend with, as well as sand in places sand should never be, and Castiel Novak, award-winning Recluse of the Century, but those are just bumps in the road to getting the girl. The plan is absolutely foolproof.

It puzzles Castiel, where Dean draws the line between what is meaningful and what it is worthless.

At the time of my writing this, the date is the fourth of October, 2013. Dean Winchester is your boyfriend of a year and a half, and you no longer work at the library, and in early 2010 you were hit by a car and hospitalised. I’m sorry.

Summary
It’s been 15 years since Dean Winchester and Castiel Novak have talked to each other. After a falling out after their senior year of high school, Cas went to Stanford, then to New York, then never went back. Until now. Sam and Eileen are getting married in their hometown of Lazarus and have invited Castiel. Not wanting to disappoint one of his closest friends and the only link left to Dean he has, Castiel agrees, ignoring the pain in his heart and all the memories he’s buried deep inside.
Fate intervenes when Dean discovers that Cas is attending the wedding and everything falls apart. Between wanting to avoid Cas and begging on his knees for forgiveness, Dean is caught between a rock and a hard place. “I must press upon you the importance of this opportunity, Castiel,” Mick says, still watching Cas intently. “And quite frankly, I'm looking forward to working closely with you.”
Sam's eyes widen, and he twists around on mere reflex alone, grabbing Dean before he can launch himself at Mick. Dean slams into him, but he's too angry to be thinking clearly, so Sam manages to wrestle the gun from Dean's hands before he can do something he'd regret later. Now is not the time for caveman tendencies, nor is it the place to stake his claim. Dean lets out a real, genuine growl, face pinched in fury.
God, Sam can't wait to tease him about this later.
