John, a heated mess of disgust and arousal and frustration and fear. Sam making their twisted family dynamics work in his favor. I wonder if this is the version of the story where Sam goes to Stanford because Dean won’t leave with him, and he can’t stand the thought of John calling his bluff.

Dean kept walking right into this stuff. Sam weighed his options and spoke carefully.
“Half your boxers are in the second drawer of my dresser. You didn’t like going to get clean underwear, in the morning, so you made me clear out a drawer for you.” He paused. “I’ve got a drawer in your room, too.”
Dean looked physically pained. “That… can’t be true.”
Sam sighed and went back to his book. “I know you don’t remember, but we had a lot of sex. You’re gonna have to trust me.”

“Dean.” Someone says, loud and breathless.
Dean turns around. There’s a kid standing there, looking at Dean, then at the girl. He’s tall—Dean doesn’t often have to tilt his head up to look at people but he can tell he will for this guy—with shaggy brown hair and wide eyes. Dean looks at the blonde girl next to him.
“Sweetheart,” Dean says, raising his eyebrow. “You are way out of this guy’s league.”
Or: After a witch hunt, Dean is cursed to lose his memories of Sam. With Sam gone at Stanford, Dean doesn’t even notice. Sam does, though.
