Sam’s next exhale is sharp, like he’s bracing for a punch. “It’s the fiftieth.” He blurts.
“Huh?”
“I lost you. Fifty years ago. Today.” Sam’s voice is tight, tremulous, and his gaze where it’s pinned to the ceiling is glassy. “I’ve been thinking about it all week. I guess…”
Or: While having a lazy morning in Heaven, Dean realizes it's an important anniversary for Sam. They deal, together.

Summary
Sam rolls onto his back, a happy little sigh at the back of his throat. Something lands on the corner of his mouth. Something warm. Something that slides into the seam between Sam’s lips.
Sam’s eyes open. He looks up at the ceiling.
And there, suspended above Sam’s head, pressed to the ceiling, is Dean.
Or: After Sam and Dean finally fall into bed together, Sam receives a warning. Sam will do anything to prevent this terrifying, looming future, but it might just tear him and Dean apart forever in the process.

Summary
“Holy…” Dean steps closer to Sam, mouth falling open and voice trailing off faintly as he notices his own reflection.
“Shit.” Sam agrees, head spinning.
He and his brother stand next to each other in the mirror. Both pale. Both blinking owlishly at themselves. And Sam realizes that what’s wrong with Dean’s eyes is also wrong with his own.
Sam’s right eye is completely normal. White sclera, hazel iris, black pupil. His right iris is still that annoying muddy blend of colors.
But his left iris…is green. Bottle green. Dean green.
Or: When a cursed object forces the boys to be in each other's line of sight or die, a fifteen-year-old Sam is forced to reckon with uncomfortable realizations about his feelings for his brother. Dean is not going to make it easy.

Sam shoves right past him, hauling the door open with more strength than Dean’s seen him use since they got here all those months, years, decades ago. He sprints into the yard, cold winter sun turning his hair almost blond.
Dean. But not Dean. Dean’s blood runs cold.
Sam’s son. He’s here.
Or: Dean finally meets Dean Jr., who admits that he's been praying to Dean since he was young. Dean also finds out that Dean Jr. is not the only one who's been praying to him.

Dean blinks up at Sam with big green eyes and curls his hand into a fist, nails biting into the tough skin of his palm. It’s a nervous habit that Sam hasn’t seen in…years. His face, outside of the furrow in his brow, is unlined. Panic makes Sam's voice unleveled as he asks,
“Dean…what year is it?”
Dean shakes his head. “It’s 2006.”
Sam stares at his brother. His brother is twenty-six years old.
Or: A magical object in the bunker swaps a 26 y/o Dean and a 40 y/o Dean. A confused Sam—who has been in a relationship with his Dean for a few years—tries to pick up the pieces, and send this younger Dean back to his own time. Things are complicated further when 26y/o!Dean thinks the reason things are too good to be true is because he’s in a djinn dream, and he’s torn between staying and going back at all costs.

Summary
It takes a lot for omega Jensen Ackles to leave his relationship with an abusive alpha, and when he does, he finds himself in a familiar spot on Jared Padalecki's doorstep. The house had also been his home before he'd left it to move in with his new boyfriend, storming out after a fight with Jared about what a mistake he was making. He arrives unsure of whether or not the bridge between them has been burned. Once Jared accepts him back home, Jensen begins to wonder if his true alpha had been right in front of him the entire time.
