Derek swallows, glances off to the side with squinted eyes. “I was thinking we could—”
Stiles reaches into his messenger bag and pulls the hollow tube out of the inside pocket. “I have a caveat,” he says roughly, wagging the Chinese finger trap under Derek’s nose. “It’s a dating prerequisite. All the trendsetters are wearing them these days.” He coughs. “Started in Milan so it definitively qualifies as très chic. I know how important that is to you.”
Derek’s eyebrows lift, unamused, and Stiles sets down his coffee on the sign for the science building and reaches for the rolled up papers in his back pocket. “Or you could sign this binding legal document, written on college-ruled paper,”—because serious—“in orange sparkle pen and stained with hot chocolate. I put stickers where you’re supposed to sign and initial.”
Derek’s eyebrows are still up but he snatches the manifesto Stiles had diligently slaved over in class that morning from his hands. He flips to the back and notes with a quirk to his lips, “Spider-man ones.”
Stiles shrugs. “It felt appropriate.” He crosses his arms over his chest and admits, “We would have to find an on-duty notary should you choose this scenario.”
“‘I hereby agree that Stiles is smarter emotionally, intellectually, and Harry Potter trivially and I will defer to him in all relationship-adjacent situations,’” Derek quotes, unimpressed.
Stiles flips a few pages for him and points, “There’s also something in there about you being a fustilarian. That’s the bard card, bitch.”

Even though Christmas was the fucking worst, Derek had a moment to hang his hopes on --- Scott coming into the coffee shop and gracing him with his smile. Little did Derek know that rescuing Scott from hunters would lead to him convincing Scott's family they were engaged. This might not have been such a problem if Scott's step-brother Stiles wasn't so suspicious and oddly charming.

While it's not particularly strange that Jack Zimmermann is in Eric Bittle's food history seminar, it's downright shocking that the incredibly hot captain of the hockey team might actually be interested in him. Even more surprising is the fact that Jack happens to be best friends with the owner of a husky that came through the animal shelter where Bitty works a few weeks ago. A husky whose name also happens to be Jack.
Jack, meanwhile, has problems of his own. Chief among them: The fact that he is both the cute boy in Bitty's food seminar and the husky he cared for at the animal shelter.

Derek wandered into the store with him, some of the cashiers cooing at Stiles because, yes, yes, he was very cute, thank you. He was getting more attention as a fox than he’d ever gotten as a human.
Figures.
He just pouted while being carried through the store, one of the girls helping Derek with what he needed and bringing it all to the cash register for him since he seemed reluctant to loosen his grip on Stiles. He probably didn’t want him wiggling free and wreaking havoc across the store.
He was pretty destructive, he’d admit that.

But Stiles knew real life wasn’t like that. Rom-coms were like that, but real life wasn’t all perfect and sunshine. Real life was messy, and painful, and sucked most of the time.
Sometimes, people died. Sometimes they got hurt. Sometimes they turned into foxes for two months and found out all your deepest, darkest secrets.
