“It’s not that I want you to go to Pride,” Peter replied, as casually as he could. “It’s just that I think you’d have fun at Pride, especially if you went with me.”
“And why would wandering around in the disgusting New York summer heat, in the middle of a crowd of sweaty people, buying food with a two-hundred percent mark up in price be more fun with you?”
Peter smiled. “Because you won’t be with me. You’ll be with Spiderman."

It was barely dark when Arthur slumped backwards onto the cold rock, the sky just beginning to brighten with the new dawn. His breath rattled in his chest, the all too familiar pain, like a thousand tiny needles stabbing at his lungs, now almost unbearable with every inhale. Pain was everywhere. His battered body felt broken.
Arthur waits to die on a cold, Ambarino mountain, but he didn’t figure on a good friend with a gut feeling he refused to ignore.
Given an unexpected second chance, Arthur has to think about moving on from his past, and living a different kind of life.

He was asleep but not soundly enough to not hear the soft pad of footsteps across the wood floor. Hosea doesn’t want to open his eyes, hoping that he’s dreaming it as well. The rain outside the small cabin melted perfectly with the dream he’d been having, so it very well could be a dream.
But the pat against his arm isn’t. And the little whisper of, “Papa,” isn’t either. Great. Arthur was awake.

Summary
Arthur Morgan is fourteen years old when his father is killed in front of him in their small cabin in Maryland. With no one to turn to, he ventures into the wilderness by himself with only a few belongings, the clothes on his back, and very limited knowledge of how to survive. Then, when all seems lost, he's taken in by a pair of charitable bandits with silver tongues, sharp wits, and big dreams of taking down civilized society to bring America back to a purer state. Along the way, they find more wayward souls, building up a strong group that's the closest thing to family most of them will ever have.
A fairly canon-compliant interpretation of The Van der Linde Gang, mostly from Arthur's point of view, 1878-1899.
WARNING. There's some ugly topics in this fic every now and then. Mostly violence, a few mentions of some darker stuff, but probably never anything too overly graphic; though, there'll be trigger warnings before the start of the chapter. Even still, viewer discretion is advised.
Discontinued, probably for forever.
