Summary
Aftermath of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Remake.
What kind of world do they live in where bombing a city to smithereens was both a tragedy and a relief? When the end times is signaled on the cellular level instead other atomic level? Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira survived with only weapons on their backs and disjointed records collected in their journey to survive another day, and yet they are unprepared to grapple with the questions that come with a changed world that placed value on diseased bodies as instruments of war and capital.
Jill and Carlos arrive to different conclusions to those questions, and those conclusions are good enough for the next five minutes into the future.

Stinging asphalt scrapes, patches of burns along her bare arms, countless little glass splinters… The wound on her upper arm, where the t-Virus had infected her, had nearly killed her, throbs under the soiled bandages wrapped around it.

It’s in the medical ward of a BSAA lab in Europe that he finally, finally sees her again. Really sees her, not in a dream or a memory. And he’s only barely able to convince himself of this because she looks so different than he’d ever imagined— she’s not the Jill of Raccoon City, with the determined set of her jaw and the short hair she could barely tuck behind her ears, teeth bared at all the bullshit around them.
Or: Jill comes home and her hair is growing out, and Carlos says 'what's God to a woman's love anyway?'

Meanwhile up on the ridge, Bushclan is struggling just to survive. Moons of hardship have left them with barely enough paws to keep things going, but hope for the future comes in the form of expecting queen Smokeheart.
A Warriors story set a continent away from the canon clans, with slightly different cultures and customs as a result. Also kind of just a love letter to rural SoCal where I grew up.

A mission gone wrong throws Snake into a temporal distortion that gives him another shot at getting it right, but there are more dangers lurking around every corner than he'd initially thought. With Otacon on the outside of the distortion and thus unaware that it's happening, Snake finds himself on his own when it comes to solving it and putting things back to normal—unless he can convince Otacon of what's happening and, more importantly, to help him through every iteration even when it means sending him into the same perilous mission over and over again.
