Chapter Updates: Aiming for Ch 9 to be up around 8/14-8/16
Beginning with the fiery Fourth of July weekend at PTMC, Trinity is forced to confront ghosts from her past she thought were long-ago buried, such as the return of Dr. Frank Langdon, the suicide of her childhood best friend, her own mental health, and most of all, her refusal to welcome the vulnerability naturally emerging from the raging spark of newfound love.
(barsantos endgame)
Excerpt from a later chapter:
She steps closer, leaning in. “Are you okay?”
Granted the closeness, Trinity can smell the soft notes of an earthy lavender body wash lingering on Baran’s smooth skin. The words, uttered like a dreamy spell, send a shiver through Trinity’s spine, weakening her knees. Santos readjusts, planting her feet in an attempt to mirror Baran’s grounding presence.
“Yeah, fine.” Trinity murmurs, trying to meet her gaze without fixating on the way Baran’s dark, glossy eyes catch the dim cooktop light and her black tank top hugs her breasts, accentuating her toned triceps.
Tilting her head down, Baran looks up through her brows. She scans Trinity’s sunken eyes. “Can’t sleep?”

Summary
Three weeks after ending a ten month situationship, Trinity Santos transfers to night shift hoping that new routines, new people, and a new shift will be enough to outrun one heartbreak.
Instead, she finds Jack Abbot loudly claiming her as one of his own, John Shen making coffee that should qualify as a controlled substance, Parker Ellis providing an endless running commentary, Crus being Crus, and Emery Walsh appearing often enough that "coincidence" starts losing all meaning.
As impossible traumas, 3am coffees and endless night shifts slowly become routine, strangers become family and nights begin to feel like home. For the first time in a long time, Trinity starts building a life she never thought she'd have.
But healing is rarely linear, and some ghosts don't stay buried just because you've changed shifts. When the past finally catches up with her, Trinity is forced to decide whether letting someone truly know her is worth the risk of losing them.
Sometimes the hardest part isn't surviving what happened to you. It's believing someone could know all of it and choose to stay anyway.
Emery Walsh has decided. She isn't going anywhere.
