Or, Hawks is "Lost Royalty" to Japan's Imperial Family, and neither he nor anyone but his owners and the one who sold him to them know it. This is his journey to discovering this fact within himself, and how it is dealt with when Prince Keigo's disappearance is once again brought to the public's attention.

Summary
Peter dies, yes. But not completely. Somehow, someway, he wakes up again. Not with his mentor standing over him; not with the Avengers ready to battle next to him; not with his Aunt May in their small apartment in Queens; not even back on Titan to continue the war against Thanos: if there even is one left to fight.
No, he wakes up choking on a burning, glowing green liquid, trapped with it in a glass pod. When he manages to break out, he has to figure out what happened, where he is, and most importantly, why the hell the world seems to glitch out all the more violently the longer he stays wherever the hell he is.

This is basically just a hyperfixation that started with @mysterycyclone's "Dark Matter" and ended up with me wanting to try my hand at the "Peter in Gotham" fic.

Idk how to summarize poetry so I guess the big idea/prompt I worked with while writing this was to "connect the poem to nature" and basically try to capture Hawks' last time flying "free" before he had to infiltrate the league.

He doesn't know what freedom is. Chained first to those who caged him, and then to those claiming to care, who said he'd be better for it, he believes them, and in their lies.
He thinks that having freedom--this mere concept whispered on the tongues of its dealers--is but a pipe dream saved for those who have not sinned. And his whole being believes in his heart too-big, that he's a dirty, rotten, good-for-nothing sinner.
At first.
His beliefs in the toxic intoxication of the world around him, that he's no better than the last of them, shatters, crumbles into dust when freedom--true, everlasting freedom--tastes itself upon his lungs and they fill with air he didn't know he needed.
Now, to find the key to his shackles.

Summary
When the love of his life dies, Peter Parker doesn't know what to do with himself. He blames himself for her death from the get-go, and months afterward, he seems to become an entirely different person. Delving himself into schoolwork, and stopping crime as his alter ego so much so, that it starts to worry his friends. However, it seems like Peter just can't catch a break, with his Aunt May slowly but steadily losing her health, his apartment's rent skyrocketing to a bone-crushing price, and the death of his soon-to-be wife, Peter has just about had it with life. The thing that nearly pushes him to his breaking point, however, is not any one of his troubles, but a secret long held by his family members. And with the resurgence of it, he not only feels overwhelmed, he feels betrayed...and there's simply nothing he can do about it.

In this, Peter is just about to graduate College, so it's a bit farther in the time-line than it was in cannon. I hope you enjoy reading this book! It's my first Spider-Man fic, and I would really appreciate feedback on how I'm doing on it.
