Kumada had to betray Nishiguchi. She didn’t have any other choice. It doesn’t matter how she felt about Nishiguchi, it doesn’t matter how much the other girl really genuinely cared about her, she had no choice but to turn her back on her. It was her best bet at surviving this hellhole, and no matter how horrifically shitty it makes her feel, she can’t allow herself to dwell on it. She didn’t have any other option. The Bleeding had forced her hand. She’s not a bad person.
At least, that’s what she has to tell herself. Over and over again, she has to justify it to herself. Because if she doesn’t, if she lets her regrets consume her, she may as well end up losing her goddamn mind.

Susie fumbled, just a bit, putting down the angel-rat tray. Sort of fumbled. Bumped into Noelle and then felt kind of, additionally gooey and warm and stupid, and as a result— actually, ignore that. As the natural result of bumping into another person during a kind of shit tray hand-off, she fumbled. Yeah, Noelle had been holding the tray, and she’d been absolutely killing it (at holding the tray)(there was no better phrase to describe it), but Susie’d thought it would be, like, brave, and knightly, and other cool and strong and upstanding descriptors, to be the one holding the tray. So yeah. She’d fumbled the angel-rat tray while putting it down. The tray itself made it to the table very neatly. Very precisely. Very knightly, even.
The angel-rat did not. The angel topper itself fell clean off, near the snack tray, and revealed its center.
It was not a rat.

Ever since he and Kazutoshi had become close, he’d make sure to memorize both of their schedules, something that proved to be very good for days when Kazutoshi’s lectures were much later in the day than his so he could let the other sleep in, as was the case today.
He’d done his normal morning routine of getting ready before checking back into their bedroom to press small kisses on Kazutoshi’s forehead before heading out, smiling when the other almost stirred from his sleep for a few seconds.
He liked the peaceful look of his boyfriend in those moments, sometimes wishing he could bottle it up and keep it forever. He wished nothing but that soft, harmless rest onto him.
