Summary
Quando Cosimo finì il liceo sapeva già da anni che avrebbe preso Economia. Suo padre glielo aveva consigliato con parole non proprio calde.
Quindi, il suo perenne spirito ribelle si limitò a esprimersi nell'unica decisione che i suoi genitori gli concessero di compiere liberamente - anche se in certi limiti: quale università frequentare.
La prima, dolce idea che apparve nella mente di Cosimo era quella di fare i bagagli e partire il più lontano possibile. Un sogno, certo, ma che sarebbe dovuto rimanere in un cassetto chiuso a chiave.
La seconda idea, più utile, gli suggerì di allontanarsi da casa sua, ma non dalla sua famiglia; o almeno, non dalla famiglia che sentiva essere davvero sua.

Summary
“Do you want to go home?” He questions, leaning close and voice soft, and Will pauses, before nodding again. Mike lets out a breath, and lets his hand press against Will a little more firmly when he starts to sway in place again. “Okay, let’s go.”
Then he looks up and is met with smug faces, and Mike flushes when he realizes his own hypocrisy.
“I don’t talk like that,” Max recalls, voice high-pitched and overly girly and – Mike definitely doesn’t talk like that.
According to everyone in his life, Mike has a voice reserved just for Will. He tries to figure out what that says about him.

Summary
Mike and Will haven't been friends for three years; not since Vecna was killed, the Byers-Hopper family moved away, and Mike decided Will would be better off without him. Now they're college roommates (at the insistence of their mothers), and they do a pretty good job of avoiding each other until Mike notices that there's something going on with Will...

Will experiences the anniversary effect, and though Mike let Will bike away on November 6th, 1983, he decides he never wants to let Will go again.

Summary
Will stirred sleepily to the sound of voices and a heavy weight beside him.
“Whazup?” he mumbled, lifting his head off the pillow and blinking in the darkness.
“Shhh, it’s fine,” replied Mike’s soft voice, breaking through the stillness that had followed Will’s muffled question, “I’ve got this one. You can go back to sleep.”
Mike and Will take turns staying up with Holly, who has begun to have nightmares about the monsters in Hawkins. Things take a curiously domestic turn.

Summary
Will raised an eyebrow at his friend's antics, then dropped his eyes to where he knew Dustin had reached a hand out towards him.
“This summer, we stick together. You and me, Byers.”
Will grinned, taking Dustin’s hand and shaking it. “You and me, Henderson.”
A rewrite of S3:
The night Dustin gets back from Camp Knowhere, he brings the Party up to the highest point in Hawkins to set up Cerebro. He thought that his friends would be excited to have him back-- even if it wasn't the most entertaining to sit on a hill and talk into a radio with no response, he thought they would at least wait for him before going home. He thought it was going to be the best summer ever.
Instead, he finds himself and the one friend that didn't leave him, Will Byers, intercepting a weird Russian transmission.
And, well... if he couldn't have the best summer ever, at least he and Will would have an eventful one.

Summary
“W-what if it’s not him?” Will croaks. Once again, Mike’s face just falls, and Will shakes his head slightly, tears welling in his eyes. “What if… what if this is all just in… in my head? A-and that’s… that’s why El can’t find him? What if… I’m just making all this up?”
For a few moments, Mike is just quiet. He looks like he’s trying to figure out what to say, so Will takes another shuddered breath. “I-I feel like I’m going insane, Mike,” he admits, hating the way his voice cracks. “It’s like… like I don’t… have control of my own mind anymore… I-I just feel like I’m… like I’m going crazy.”

In the year following the opening of Vecna's gates, Mike slowly loses Will, and Will slowly loses his mind.
