Summary
She's moved on. She's engaged to someone else. Jack doesn't have to be her shoulder anymore. He doesn't have to listen to her babble about an issue until she figures it out. He's her CO. Her boss. He should expect support from her, not the other way around. He ought to turn around and walk the other way. But she looks so dejected---so upset---so troubled---that he can't quite make himself actually leave. After all, they'd always been friends, hadn't they? Written for the June 17, 2025 #TuesdayMuseday photo prompt.

Another stab at The Cabin idea. After Jacob dies and Sam dumps Pete, the team goes fishing. This is just another reimagining of the possible scene there, where Jack and Sam finally figure things out. Fluffy, angsty, sweet, funny--this one's a little bit of everything. Just like our favorite couple. <3

Summary
“Even they can’t say everything they need to say just by looking into each other’s eyes.”
Jack and Sam have a series of conversations between her rescue from Orilla and his decision to accept the promotion... because they are both as bound to duty as they are to each other.
From Chapter 13:
This might be the hardest thing he’s ever had to say to her. “We let each other go. Now. We accept that there’ll always be some reason we can’t act on this thing between us, and we move on. No waiting for each other.” He fixes her gaze. “We let this… go.” He really sounds like he means it. He’s even making it sound like it’d be possible. “Or… instead of waiting until we win the war, we-” He stumbles over how exactly to put this second option delicately, and without losing his cool. “We do this – this thing between us – now.” His insides flip saying it; hers do too, hearing it. “We keep it secret, from everyone. We risk it all and explore… this. Now.”

Summary
Sam transfers from the Pentagon to the SGC. She’s tense and Jack realises early on that he’s in trouble. Trust is built with some, and destroyed with others.
***
This is a Sam/Jack backstory piece covering the first few missions. It includes a pre-series scene, my take on that first briefing room meeting between Jack and Sam in Children of the Gods, and missing scenes for The First Commandment and Cold Lazarus that also reflect on the events of Emancipation and The Broca Divide. The established relationships here are Sam/Jonas Hanson, Sam/other and Jack/Sara, but the fic is about the foundations of Sam/Jack right from the first meeting so it’s definitely a Sam/Jack fic! Head straight to Chapter 7 for the Dom/sub smut if that's why you're here!!!

Kawalsky singles out a problem immediately. “‘She’?” Yep, Charlie, O'Neill thinks, definitely a She, with short, blond, sassy hair, and dancing blue eyes. If he can't scrape back a bit more professionalism than he's shown so far in this meeting, he knows he’s going to be in trouble here. Trouble with a capital ‘T’ and that rhymes with ‘she’ and that stands for ‘Sam’ and that’s short for Samantha.Bookmarked by neverbefore

His eyes moved over the leather, taking in her soft curves, and the hug of the black material against her hips and long legs. He trailed his fingertips slowly down her body. “So, tell me something Carter, do you really want to play this game?”

Errr... possibly the weirdest thing I've ever written, but still posted anyway.
Sam and Jack are finally allowed to be together, but in reality friends to lovers might be a little different than they anticipated. Part of the one where Sam can't pull it together to kiss him. I probably didn't follow the brief exactly, but this is what happened. Enjoy it. Or not. :D
Also mostly inspired by the director's comment for Chimera that pointed out that he sniffs her when she gets on the elevator before that heinously amazing humming scene.

Trauma has shaped the lives of both Officer Sam Carter and Sergeant Jack O’Neill. They had their separate lives, both at the same police department, but never meeting. That fact alone floors Jack, making him long for the times he was a father. But this little blonde human and her lovely and intelligent mother are finding a way into his heart, and he into theirs. But the trauma that brought them together threatens to pull them apart, both fighting for their lives and that of the baby.

Jack had learned as a commanding officer that it was important to understand your subordinates—not just their strengths, but their weaknesses and how to compensate for them. Managing the team and redirecting them when they get off course was essential to team unity and survival.

Summary
How do you make things right? Especially when you're the one who caused all the pain in the first place--
Colonel O'Neill is back at the SGC after a lengthy recuperation period--and this is his first mission back with the team. Sam's doing her best to act as if everything is normal. As if his absence wasn't her fault. As if he hadn't been captured, tortured, killed, and then revived time and time again because of her. Desperate to make things right, she's unsure how to accomplish that feat. Even worse, she's completely unsure where they stand--or whether he can even forgive her.
Episode tag to "Frozen" and "Abyss". Written in honor of "Sam/Jack Ship Day 2024" using the prompt "Dancing in the Rain".

Summary
Sam has time to dwell on her embarrassment after finding Kerri at Jack’s house, but her embarrassment turns introspective as she tries to reconcile her actions and Jack's reactions over the past year. It leads her to the only logical conclusion, but what will Jack say?
I think now that it was just more of the self-sacrificial bullshit that I should have expected. He’s been putting his own ass on the line since day one, but outside of that battlefield context, I didn’t see it for what it was. I didn’t know what it looked like when Jack gave up something he wanted because someone he cared about wanted something else. It looked a lot like rebutting every reason I could think of to give the ring back to Pete. The truth is, I didn’t know what I wanted back then. I didn’t say ‘yes,’ but Jack was right. I didn’t say ‘no’ either. The option was on the table, and I had put it there.
