Summary
The box was full and had colorful stains on the outside. Sticking out of the corner of the box was a brown, thin paintbrush. He pulls it out and twirls it between his fingers.
"Nothing important."
The words bounce around his head, trying to grasp the neutral way Will simply said it. He used to tell Mike everything.
Did things really change?
Mike tries to think of a reason why Will wouldn't just tell him. Why did he have to learn about his best friend second-hand, from El?
or: Will made a painting for someone else. Mike doesn't understand why he won't tell him about it. He misses everything before Lenora, before the silence, before the unanswered calls. Of course he's jealous, Will is his best friend. Right?

“Look, asshole, do you want a job or not?” Mikey interrupts. “You said yourself you were bored. I know you can’t afford cigarettes anymore. Until the millions of jobs you applied for decide to call you back, this is the best you got.”
Gerard grimaces.
“Besides,” Mikey continues after a beat, “you’d get to hang out with me. And Ray and Frank too, I guess. But at least you wouldn’t be loitering at my job instead of finding something else productive to do.”
Gerard looks at Mikey for a moment before groaning and tugging a hand through his hair. “Fine, you win. Brian, can I have an application?”

Summary
When he catches himself, Damon realizes his face is stuck, stretched taut by awe, clay shaped by Graham’s calloused hands. He pries his eyes away from Graham and his filthy guitar, fixes his face, lowers his eyebrows, shuts his jaw. Coughs. Looks around. Damon notices Alex practically drooling beside him and rolls his eyes.
“Close your mouth,” Damon sneers.
“You first,” Alex says.
(AU. At Goldsmiths' annual student-run weeklong battle of the bands, Damon and Alex both have their eyes set on recruiting Graham, a virtuosic guitarist, to their respective bands. Shenanigans ensue.)

“I was gonna come in here and try to haggle with you, but I don’t think either of us really have the gumption.” That got a real laugh out of Graham, escaping like it was punched out of his stomach. “It’s no problem, you can come in here and listen to it anytime you want.”
“Will you let me use your headphones again?” Damon smiled at him crookedly. Is he flirting?
“Yeah, I’m working here most of the time when I haven’t got class. My headphones are yours to borrow.”
Damon bit his lip. Definitely flirting.
Or; Damon is a university student passionate about collecting American hip-hop records and Graham works at a music shop. They fall in love and live happily ever after!

Graham is studying art at the same university, bored with his monotonous life and afraid to take the leap forward with his craft. When they meet, they’re suddenly excited at the prospect of finally having a friend. Still, they’re bewildered at the butterflies spreading in their stomach every time they spend time together. Hopefully, they won’t have to deal with it for long…
