Seyka rolls over to find the space next to her in the bed empty, blankets folded over to reveal the slight indentation that still remains from her body in the tired mattress. Seyka inhales deeply, wood and laundry and still the faintest scent of Aloy, and lets herself awaken the rest of the way slowly. She has time. Aloy hasn’t run away, not like she used to back in the days before the fire, before the kiss, when sharing each others’ company was at times a desperate cling to someone neither of them thought they’d get to keep. She’s close, and she’s waiting, and anyway it’s all her, a little bit, in the way a home—a real home—carries with it a piece of the soul of a person.

And if trying to navigate the unknown terrain of being in a relationship wasn't enough for Aloy, a few familiar faces show up at the Base, asking for her help in finding some missing Tenakth, who have seemingly vanished without a trace.
