Summary
He’d learned a few things over the past six months. How far dragonfire could reach and how it cooked you so fast, you were dead before you finished screaming. How the claws and beak of a griffin tore through flesh like it was the smoothest of butter.
Most of all, he learned that life would be a whole lot more bearable if he could manage not to care.

Summary
The field was blossoming in such rich dark blues and purples, with an underlying green, that John was irresistibly put in mind of the ocean, his feet lightly stepping over the water, mindful of the lurking creatures of the deep.

Summary
Some come for the travel, some for the history, and some for the company, but there are quite a few who come just for the stories, because this place knows more than most about Atlantis - or the City, as most refer to her nowadays - and there is hardly a person in the known galaxies who doesn’t have at least a passing interest.

Summary
When Rodney gets culled some time after the events on Duranda, Atlantis has to move on without him.
Except Rodney isn't dead, he's stranded on the bluest of all planets, certain that no rescue is coming.
Will this be another instance of him being one hundred percent wrong? (Yes. Yes, it will be.)

Summary
Rodney really ought to have deleted the tapes. But, then, he didn’t expect to be in a plane crash, on the way to an important conference in Siberia, and declared dead, due to a mixture of bureaucratic incompetence and his own spell of amnesia, which was so very much like something straight out of a particularly implausible soup opera, that he was retrospectively appalled by the sheer temerity of reality.

Summary
When John tells Rodney he's gay, he's counting on the fact that they'll never be able to contact Earth again to keep him from ending up with a conduct unbecoming charge if Rodney freaks out or blabs about it. What he's not counting on is Rodney being mercifully discreet but also filled with seemingly innocent curiosity; for it to become one of their normal conversation topics when they're alone.

Summary
“Look, I know you don’t know me and you’re not aware of the fact that, if you knew I was missing - which you don’t, because I never existed and, even if I did, you wouldn’t have met me yet - then you’d be very, very upset about it … but I really need your help. And, actually, so does the universe.”
