Kyehoon did his best to look bored and dangerous—the usual. He had that stupid cool-boy slouch going on, hoodie hood up, legs propped up on the table, expression blank. No Donghyeon to tease the living daylights out of him now. The only problem was that his ears were already warming up, and that was so unfair because Donghwa hadn’t even done anything yet.
Except exist.
Which was honestly already very damaging! He needed a license for that, Kyehoon inwardly grumbled.

The first one who caught his eye looked like a prince—dark hair in natural curls and doe-like eyes. Flawless, almost. Charmingly grinning at the camera, his cheeks dusted with speckles of pink spray paint. One arm was around another boy’s shoulders. The other was shorter and, to put it simply, looked like a ginger cat. His eyes crinkled in a way that told Amaru that he smiled often—lips parted in a faux gasp.
Laughing beside them was the one who looked the youngest; he couldn’t have been older than eighteen. You could tell a lot from someone’s face, Amaru had realised that, and this boy just looked… happy. Having his hair ruffled by another boy, this time bundled in a hoodie. His eyes were set like a fox’s—bright and mischievous.
Amaru could tell why the police didn’t arrest them. He wouldn’t have either.
These four looked like a family.

Everything was dull. The fluorescent lines of the training room flickered on and off. Keiju found himself slumped in the corner, back against the hard surface of the mirror. It was cold, but he wasn’t too sensitive. But why was he trembling? His breath felt shaky; his heartbeat too fast.
Adrenaline, he reasoned with his spiralling psyche. They had probably just finished practice. He was tired. That was all there was to it. He pressed his shaking fingers to his eyes, watching the blurry swirls that formed under his eyelids. Was this a dream? He needed to wake himself up—
“You’re doing everything wrong!”
Oh.
Keiju’s eyes fluttered open. Kyehoon never yells.
