Summary
“Ma’am, I can’t hear what you’re saying,” the officer says gently. “Can you speak a little louder?”
The woman’s unseeing gaze refocuses for a split second, catching the officer’s eyes. Her words are still faint, weak, but finally audible. “Hood,” she breathes. “Red Hood.”
The officer frowns. “Red Hood did this to you?”
The brief moment of lucidity fades, and the woman goes back to seeing nothing, mumbling the same name again and again and again.
Red Hood.
Red Hood is accused of a crime he didn't commit. The truth isn't much prettier.

Rage bubbles up in Jason’s chest at the thought of the drug lords and gang leaders responsible for this mess. Hiring goons to do the dirty lifting is one thing. Risking the wrath of the Red Hood is another.

He can feel energy seeping from his body alongside the blood. He curls his arm tighter around his chest. A sad self-hug. Ridiculous. “Because… I might not be. In a minute.”
Jason's hurt, confused, and alone—and someone's on his trail.

Summary
Jason tries to fight it. He does.
He feels the mystery toxin seep into his blood, slower than anticipated. He’d expected pain following the sharp stab of the needle into his skin, fire-hot anger burning through his veins or ice-cold fear freezing his bones—something immediate and obvious, a familiar sensation he can latch on to, work through, fight through.
But there’s nothing.
At first.
Jason's trapped in more ways than one, and the rescue efforts are cutting it close.

Summary
Bruce had been clear; no dealing with the crime of Crime Alley for the foreseeable future, or he’d be dragged kicking and screaming to the Manor.
Evidently, the crime of Crime Alley had not gotten the memo.
Jason's supposed to be resting, not fighting off a burglar in the middle of the night. It doesn't go particularly well for Jason—but, really, you should see the other guy.
