Tim has a plan. It's a very good plan. Foolproof, even.

This plan lands him in detention. The same detention as Jason Todd. (Robin!!)

    Things spiral from there.

"This was the most real dream he had had, and he knew what would happen.
If Boromir went to Rivendell, he would die."

An AU that has been done before, but this is my take on the 'Faramir goes to Rivendell in place of Boromir AU'

When Aragorn becomes king, he realizes that it’s a terribly lonely job. Hardly any of the Fellowship understands what being a king means, and he suspects that some of the Lords of Gondor are not supportive of his reign. And why does his Steward not talk to him?

In which: I play with my favorite headcanon, namely, that Aragorn and Faramir become best buds after the war is over.

    Summary

“I often dream of things which were only described to me, or things I am told of after I wake. I see horrible scenes, collected from various stories. My father always cursed my imagination; on nights such as this, I am inclined to agree.”

“Imagination, perhaps,” Aragorn says. “Or perhaps it is Sight.”

Faramir squeezes his eyes closed and in return sees Boromir’s eyes fly open, dark with confusion and pain - he hears once more ragged gasping upon the air as his brother’s lungs fight to expel the putrid river water congealed within them.

“Am I correct?” Aragorn says, soft. “You have not dreamt, for I know you have not slept…it was a vision, was it not?”

“No, it cannot be,” Faramir says, knuckles white as the stone under his palms.

    ~

Months after his death, Boromir awakens, wounded and disoriented. Far away in the towers of Minas Tirith, Faramir sees.
