Everything is silent and still. This region has been that way for two centuries, keeping out all but the most persistent of wanderers, shielding itself from the outside since the last time abundant blood was spilled and fed the enchantment that ensures that the dreadful creature at its heart remains asleep.
The soil yearns for the call of its master, the corruption spreads, and the living beings that still inhabit this place keep on living, subdued, waiting. There's an air of anticipation: it's almost the promised time once again.

But it had never been a problem before now... it had never hurt before now... what was he to do when the flowers showed up? The kingdoms were at war, and it wasn’t like any of them were doctors... it couldn’t be that much of a problem... right?
