Summary
Dr. Halsin Silverbough runs the Emerald Grove, a recovery house designed to help troubled people transition back into society.
The Grove has been a home and sanctuary to many, and two of its latest residents - a recovering drug addict from Kirkwall and a juvenile delinquent trying to move beyond her criminal record - are both ready for fresh starts. However, with the influence of the vampire working street corners and the local university's new Professor of Magic old habits die hard, and second chances may not be enough to help them escape what they've been running from.

He keeps his head bowed, not daring to risk a look at his master as Cazador strides down the corridor ahead of him. The muted click of boots on marble contrasts sharply with his own bare footsteps.
"I heard interesting gossip earlier. Perhaps you can illuminate the rumours for me."

Her lips feel pleasantly sore from his attention and he doesn't look any better off, strands of his silvery hair tousled and framing his face in a way she can't help but find endearing. "Of course not," he answers, reaching up to smooth his hair back into place and sounding irritated. "Why would something be wrong?"
