“Jisu, you’re home,” Minhee says simply, eyes narrow, glimmering like the stars overhead. Jisu finds herself lost in there, an entire universe too big for her to comprehend. Yet, if she were to reach forward, just lean over the center console of the car, she could hold the entire universe in her hands like it were something so simple.
The static in her brain stays constant, a reminder of the flush underneath her skin. Her body trembles where she sits, unable to be still with the silence stretching between them.
“I'm in love with you, Minhee unnie.”
Or, Jisu falls in love with her best friend’s older sister and can never quite figure out how to move on.
