Summary
Wilbur stepped between the injectors, making his way down their main path. The threat of wildlife entering their domain and causing problems was something they needed to look out for. Luckily, they hadn’t had any encounters with such creatures yet.
Wilbur stopped in his tracks, eyes locking with bright blue ones.
Perhaps Wilbur spoke too soon.
Wilbur tilted his head, the… What were they called again? Human in front of him copied his action. It appeared much smaller than Wilbur would have anticipated for the main inhabitant of Earth to be. The creature barely went to his knees in this smaller form.
The human had his thumb in his mouth, gazing up at Wilbur with wide, curious eyes. A small, cloth animal was held in his other hand.
How interesting. One would think that a creature so vulnerable would be fearful of something so much grander than them.
Or, Pink Diamond Wilbur is preparing to destroy the earth, only to find a small human boy that makes him change his mind. I wonder if the other diamonds will accept this change?

The guard stared at him for a moment, blue eyes blown wide behind his mask.
It was then the Pythia looked down at the hand outstretched between them. The prosthetic was made of intricately carved metal, covered in vines and flowers twisting together with the shimmer of enchantments reflecting in the purple glow.
And although the guard’s sleeve was covering his wrist, he knew that in the place where metal met flesh, there was a pair of dark angel wings tattooed on his skin.
He was right. This wasn’t a real guard.
This was a Deathling.
or, Wilbur is an oracle known as the Pythia, chosen to receive dreams of the future from the goddess Clara. One day, he receives a dream warning him that during a ball Emperor Schlatt is hosting, the Deathlings—terrorists who worship the goddess of Death—will launch an attack. When his warning goes ignored, he knows there's going to be consequences.
He doesn't expect one of those consequences to include him getting kidnapped by a teenager.

Tommy glanced at the almost-there-Wilbur, taking in his shifting eyes. The man didn’t sound all that concerned, but Tommy has been beside Wilbur all his life. However little the link actually lets them know about each other, the teen at least knew his tells.
His eyebrows were furrowed, and his echoed speech was tinted with growing concern. His words bounced off of the none existing walls, and they rang back through Tommy’s ears with screeching worry.
Tommy stared at the tulip, “Just life stuff,” he weakly gestured to their dream scape with a wave of his hand, “nothing the link will let us talk about.”

“I didn’t even get a choice!” Tommy snapped, but slammed his mouth shut immediately afterwards, teeth clicking together.
Wilbur grit his teeth, and the boy was afraid that another argument would arise from his small slip up, and another piece of a broken picture would be left to collect dust as they waited for some force in the universe to pick it up for them, to help them repair what could so happily be fixed.

“And everyone is so old,” Tubbo complains. Somehow, without them knowing about it, Tubbo’s managed to swipe a waffle and is chewing on it happily. Sapnap stifles a laugh. “Well, not everyone, I guess- the kid in our room is our age, I think. He might be younger.”
Wilbur perks up. “Does he ice skate?”
“Yeah, he does. He’s got these sick skates and everything.” Tubbo explains. “He’s quiet though. We tried talking to him, but…”
“But?”
Tubbo shrugs. "He's quiet. He doesn't talk much. I guess he's busy."
or, Tommy's made it to the Olympics for figure skating- he's the youngest contestant on the ice and he's the favor for the gold. He's supposed to be living the dream. So why is he still so unhappy? And why do all these hockey players and snowboarders care so much about him?

Wilbur’s breathing hitched as he looked into the pale eyes of the dead boy. Unlike before, his lips were no longer blue, and there was no more seaweed stuck in his blonde curls. He was sitting up now, the waves soaking the bottom of his pants as he sat on the sand across from Wilbur.
“You-”
“I’m not dead, Wil,” the boy said, the words tumbling out of him in a rush. “I’m not dead, don’t fucking listen to them when they say I’m dead because I’m not. You know I’m not!”
“I-I saw your body,” Wilbur stammered, unsure of how the dead boy knew his name.
“It’s not me! I don’t know what the fuck that thing was, but I’m not dead! You can feel it, can’t you?” The boy pleaded, his voice cracking as he started crawling on the sand towards Wilbur. “You have to save me, Wil. Please, you need to get me out of here!”
or, Wilbur finds a dead body at the beach, and that's only the start of his problems.

Summary
Slowly, Tommy presses himself flat against Wilbur and crawls closer to his face. Wilbur lets him, curious to what he’ll do.
Tommy stops when his face is centimeters from Wilbur’s own.
Then in a swift motion, he thwacks Wilbur’s nose with his paw.
“Did you just fucking boop me?” Wilbur exclaims and Tommy’s response is to do it again.

Or: Tommy is a cat shifter who gets rather clingy when the weather gets cold. Wilbur's having a bad day but that's something Tommy can easily fix. A win win, if you ask him.

But they were also leaving Tommy. At least, that's how he felt.

“Something has been stolen from us,” Thanatos said, his wings puffing up as he spoke. “Something that is very important to us. And we are fairly certain that the person who stole this thing of ours is in this very crowd.”
Dream tensed beside Tommy as the crowd broke out into murmurs. Eyes were darting towards the different heroes in the crowd, the benefactors no doubt assuming that the culprit had to be a hero.
“Like we said, we haven’t crashed your party to cause trouble. But we want this thing returned to us, and we won’t hesitate to take extreme measures to get what we want.”
or, Tommy was a lot of things: a newly debuted hero sidekick, an amnesiac, and a former kidnapping victim of the Syndicate.
Tommy didn't actually remember that last one though. That was just what Dream told him.
Only weeks after his hero debut, the Syndicate announces they are searching for something, and Tommy knows it has to be him. The scariest part? If they find him, Tommy will have no clue what to expect, because the Syndicate might know him, but he has no memories of them.
So he can't let them find him. No matter what.
Of course they end up finding him anyway.
