Summary
Xaden Riorson never wanted to be here. But he bargained for his chance to fight to live in the Riders Quadrant. Both for himself, and for the other marked ones. But his arrival at Basgiath War College is met with open hostility, and he must fight not just against the dangers of the Riders Quadrant, but also against his fellow cadets, who want him dead for the sins of his father. Will he survive?
Set two years before Fourth Wing, this is an imagined version of what Year 1 may have looked like for Xaden and the other riders we meet in Fourth Wing who arrive two years before Violet. There are also new characters who help him on his journey. Note - this has plenty of Fourth Wing and Iron Flame spoilers throughout.
All storylines other than those confirmed in FW and IF, and all new original characters, are completely imagined.

Summary
Xaden Riorson just finished his first year at Basgiath War College. He's bonded to one of the most feared dragons in Navarre, and he's proven himself to be exceptionally powerful to his quadrant and command alike. Now, it's time for Year 2. Appointed section leader thanks to his efforts in War Games, Xaden will have to navigate new challenges in his second year as an official part of leadership, while secretly making plans behind the scenes, plans that will ensure that all of this, in the end, is worth it. Along the way, he has to navigate the renewed hatred of the new cadets, the prejudices of command, who will stop at nothing to try to break him, and the added stress of a new betrothal, something he wants nothing to do with, all while surviving the most brutal class in the Riders Quadrant.
A continuation of my series of Xaden's POV - Years 1-3, imagining the story of how our beloved wingleader came to be the person Violet meets in Fourth Wing. Many of the characters in this year will be familiar from Year 1, as we pick up where that left off, and this story contains multiple spoilers for Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. I do not recommend reading Years 1 or 2 until both books have been completed.

I start to drift back across the rink towards the boards so I can set down my earbuds — they’re the cheapest ones I could get, which means they go flying at any significant movement, and my leggings don’t have goddamn pockets — when I realise I’m no longer alone, now abruptly face to face with another human being.
Worse, it’s a human being I recognise. And certainly not one I’m thrilled to see.
It’s one of the hockey players. Captain of the men’s team, to be specific. He’s twice my size, broad-shouldered and brawny, with dark hair and russet skin, a single white scar bisecting his brow that’s dramatically rumoured to be a souvenir from a backwater bar fight. He’s the sort of athlete that never fails to reduce women into giggling caricatures falling over themselves, and more infuriatingly he knows it.

At the same time, Laura and the newly forming pack are dealing with Derek’s new alpha power and trying to help Jackson deal with his new problems as well.
This is part two of a continuing story, there’s a brief synopsis of what came before that I’ve added, in case you want to dive in on part two. But there’s a lot of details in part one that will be helpful going forward.
This is gradually going to become more AU as things progress, because unlike the show there are ramifications for actions in my world.
If you want to know where this starts to depart from the Teen Wolf universe, it’s probably around ten years in the past when Deucalion attacked Allison Argent, and was put down for it with the assistance of several wolf packs. Enjoy!Series
