“Why don’t you run me through tonight’s plans?” Sylus says as he helps you into the car. “Since you’re my assistant now.”
“Arrival in fifteen, shake hands, and get an invite to cocktail party at eight,” you go down the list on your fingers after you buckle yourself in. “Mingle until we’re either invited to a backroom or someone can give us a name. And then we kick their asses.”
Sylus chuckles. He keeps his eyes on the road as he drives, shifting gear with one hand, the other lazily on the steering wheel. It’s effortlessly hot, and it annoys you a great deal. “There might be a few steps in between intelligence gathering and ass-kicking, but you got the gist of it. You are?”
“Your overworked assistant,” you say.
“Overworked?” Sylus asks, amused. “I don’t remember this being part of the script.”
“I’m simply trying to portray my role as realistically as possible.”
You moonlight as Sylus’ assistant. Things go a little differently than planned.

Summary
When it happens once, it's odd. Something you don't think much of because it's so fleeting that by the time you meet Sylus' eyes, it's gone again. But when it happens a second... and a third... There's an inexplicable pull towards moments with Sylus that have absolutely happened before, even if you don't remember them in these exact circumstances.
A trip to a field of flowers brings it all crashing down. He had horns, and a tail, and wings.

Draco blinked, eyes narrowing slightly and then flitting over Scorpius features. Scorpius had taken after the Malfoy line more than the Granger, his hair and eyes and stature a dead match for his dad’s (though he’d been lucky to scrape a few extra melanin genes from his mum). He smiled politely, awaiting his verdict.
“But you’re…” Draco tilted his head. “My age.”
“Ah, right.” Scorpius took a few steps closer, reeling up the Time Turner so it swung innocently in the air between them. “Turns out these are trickier to calibrate than I thought.”
