Summary
Robert "Bob" Reynolds is finally clean. And his life is finally back on track, sorta.
His therapist made him cut ties with his parents, get a new job, and get a new apartment. Now it's his first day of his new job at The Feedback, a 90s-themed bar. It went well until an evil-looking version of Johnny called him 'Bobby.'
Bob was able to pull himself out of a spiral, but now he's got to deal with this bum police officer whom Bob refuses to let walk home alone, drunk. Bob also refuses to acknowledge the lingering glances from John that do not make Bob feel like soggy Jell-O.

Summary
Bruce Wayne's life is a perfect, messy struggle. Clark's life on the other hand, is honestly just a struggle. For Bruce, raising five kids is no easy feat, but with the constant support from his found family, they've been able to make do. Clark, a high school biology teacher, has just moved to Gotham after a bad breakup, trying desperately to make ends meet with a smile.
The only thing they have in common? At the end of the day, they find themselves alone. As CEO of Wayne Enterprises, coming home to an empty bed (except for when one of his kids has a nightmare) after a long day is something he tries not to think about too hard. For Clark, night is when the connections he's severed start to gnaw and the things he's lost can catch up.
And then their paths cross. Clark Kent is like no one Bruce has ever met and has a smile that could light up a dark room. Bruce is just a little too good at getting Clark to drop his defenses, and as they help one another, the connection deepens. Both have scars, some healed and some festering.
The two are hopeless and awful at communicating, but some things are worth the effort, right?
