“You truly are a peculiar girl, Mabel,” Ford says in wonder.
The brunette beams at this, her smile almost blinding.
“Come on,” she says, grabbing his wrist. Her grip is surprisingly strong, and so is the way she tugs him along with her. “It’s payback time! Revenge tastes sweet, like gummy worms!”
(In which Stan's an idiot, Mabel is scheming, and Ford finally gets to see the Stan Wrong Song.)

Summer had departed Gravity Falls and school had returned, junior high in the past and high school the daunting present. The months were flying from the calendar and Oregan’s harsh winter had frosted the town. Mabel found solace in the cold, hiding beneath her layers of clothes. Tights under jeans and long sleeves under sweaters concealed her thinning body, shielding sharp elbows and high peaked, sloping pelvic bones.
