“What’s wrong, Mike? Why are you scared? Isn’t this what you wanted?” Mike backed up from the bed. He couldn’t breathe. Tears beaded in his eyes. What on earth? Will got angrier. He shouted. “Isn’t this what you wanted?” His spit hit Mike’s cheek. He lunged for Mike, who just barely managed to dodge the hands reaching for him and ran around the bed to the door. He ripped it open and slammed it behind him, backing away slowly until he bumped into someone.

Will froze for a second, staring at Mike. “Let's go to my room.” He stood up abruptly, hand still holding Mike's, and dragged Mike to his room. They stepped over and around their sleeping friends and quietly shut the door behind them.
“Will?” Mike wasn't sure what to ask. “What happened last night?”
Will bit at his lips and Mike failed at trying not to watch.
“Do you…” Will started. Mike's eyes met his. That look was back. Will has pretty eyes.
“Do you want me to remind you?”
...Mike got drunk at Stacey's party and doesn't remember much. Now he's not sure why he woke up at the Byers's house or why Will is looking at him odd.
Will did not get drunk at Stacey's party and remembers everything, including Mike telling him he didn't want to be Tammy.
Not beta read, we die like my expectations for the Stranger Things finale.

Summary
Will raised his fist once more and again brought it down hard against his face, with strength his friend would normally never possess. Pain blinded him for a moment and he could feel his left eye going swollen in what would definitely turn into a nasty bruise, the coppery flavour of blood resting on his tongue. But still, he let himself be complacent, limp in his friend’s grip, not making any moves to push Will off him, to try and fight back, to try and do anything but look into his eyes and talk. He couldn’t do that to Will. He couldn’t hurt him in any way, even when he was in this state.
Will’s powers come at a cost — they make the hivemind leak deeper into him, causing him to slip further under Vecna’s hold. Mike is the first to notice. And when Will loses control completely, and everyone else flees in terror, Mike is the only one who stays, determined to bring him back.

Summary
Mike overhears Will telling Jonathan that he’s afraid to come out to his friends and decides the best solution to this is to come out to Will first (even though he’s totally straight), except instead of coming out to him, Will takes Mike on a journey of self-acceptance, unraveling internalized homophobia and introducing him to queer culture. Mike really hopes this doesn’t awaken anything in him (spoiler: it definitely does).
