Summary
Will raised his fist once more and again brought it down hard against his face, with strength his friend would normally never possess. Pain blinded him for a moment and he could feel his left eye going swollen in what would definitely turn into a nasty bruise, the coppery flavour of blood resting on his tongue. But still, he let himself be complacent, limp in his friend’s grip, not making any moves to push Will off him, to try and fight back, to try and do anything but look into his eyes and talk. He couldn’t do that to Will. He couldn’t hurt him in any way, even when he was in this state.
Will’s powers come at a cost — they make the hivemind leak deeper into him, causing him to slip further under Vecna’s hold. Mike is the first to notice. And when Will loses control completely, and everyone else flees in terror, Mike is the only one who stays, determined to bring him back.

Summary
Mike overhears Will telling Jonathan that he’s afraid to come out to his friends and decides the best solution to this is to come out to Will first (even though he’s totally straight), except instead of coming out to him, Will takes Mike on a journey of self-acceptance, unraveling internalized homophobia and introducing him to queer culture. Mike really hopes this doesn’t awaken anything in him (spoiler: it definitely does).

Will looks at her, trying to keep the surprise off his face.
“You really think so?” El asks, looking maybe just as confused as Will.

Without sharing a glance with Will, she slides her hand in his and he immediately follows the gesture with his eyes. What the-
“It’ll be like a full couples trip now” she continues.
Will’s eyes widen and he gapes at her but she she spares him a quick sideways glance and squeezes his hand like a warning. Will swallows hard and looks up at Mike. His eyes are zeroed in on their joined hands, practically unblinking. El breaks the silence first.
“You two…?” She asks hesitantly.
Jenn pulls Will closer by their joined hands.

After an agonizing last months of the school semester, June finally breathed its life into the town of Hawkins.
Warm, sticky, muggy air tucked itself into the streets as schools opened their doors and released the kids for the few months that felt like an eternity and too fast at the same time. It was a time for friends to come together, relishing the laxed supervision of their parents to run rampant through the streets hand in hand, side by side.
To celebrate, the Party goes to an island where they find a little more than they bargained for as they find a moon pool that changes Mike, Max, and Lucas into merpeople.
After failing to keep land people off the island, Jane and Will have to go to land to try to fix their mistake before their secret gets revealed to the entire world.OR:

Mike calls Will in the middle of the night, unable to get into his apartment. As Will helps him, they come to find that the implications of this are stranger than they could ever imagine.
OR: Mike gets turned into a vampire. Will and Mike do not know that vampires are real.
