Cole’s breath stuck in his throat. He stood petrified, fingers just barely brushing the red wood that barely muffled his mother’s raw, shaking voice. A piercingly cold wave crashed into him, froze him to the bone until he shook uncontrollably in the late-evening heat. Salty water blurred everything until all he saw were bubbles and shadows dancing in the golden sunset. That powerful force dragged him harshly against the sand. Sea foam filled his skull as he flailed to grab onto anything to keep him from being washed away, and then he woke up somewhere else.

another short but sweet one. this one gives liu kang and kung lao a lot of room to breathe and show off their silly and childish sides in a way the canon doesn't always allow (especially for liu kang), so i find this piece incredibly charming. :]

this one may not be canon compliant, but it is really really good and captures an uneasy relationship dynamic really well. really good kaguracules fic that i find myself coming back to again and again, so if you like toxic political drama yaoi, go ahead and give it a shot!

A medical and political drama about the the Followers of the Apocalypse and their new "Freeside Prehospital Medicine" initiative. Bags are spiked and IVs flushed. Stretchers roll across uneven pavement. The streets are a brave new frontier, and a lot is on the line both at the bedside and behind the desk. But don't worry too much- all bleeding stops eventually!
Has some of the same characters from my other story, Practicing Medicine. Lots of OCs. Strong focus on believability/realism, and most action scenes involve resucitation rather than violence.
