Summary
This was originally a writing exercise that I did that I didn't intend to publish. This was another fic that came to me fully formed in a dream, and it's just a fluff slice-of-life story.
Upon seeing there was only one Dan Heng/Sushang fic on the website, and it's not in english (it's so good though) I thought it was my civic duty to post this. Hopefully even one person finds it and enjoys it.Heng could be argued to be pretty out of character, but I'd argue we've just never seen him happy before /joking

Her puppet is left in the dark, and her most loyal subject has been shaken, leaving both to question their place. Kujou Sara is not at home in the Kujou Clan, and the Shogun never had a home to begin with.

What happened to you, Alba Moonseeker? Weren’t you a good person, at some point? When did that change?
He knows when. He knows what he did to kickstart all of this, back in the deep heart of the jungle, back in Mordremoth’s domain, back when Trahearne had asked, no, begged him to kill him to ensure it was over. One mercy kill to make sure they were finished and everything was tied up neatly. Want to or not, he’d done it. He’d done it.
He thinks that’s when it happened. Maybe it was sooner. Maybe his pod was just bad. Damaged, somehow. Maybe he never was good.
