Harry turns to me as soon as he gets to the 'No Trespassing' sign. "See Dawn, you're trespassing."
"I am? What are you gonna do about it?" I place my hands on my hips, returning his smirk.
"I could shoot you, princess. I would have one less problem," he says shortly with a shrug, like it's nothing.
"You wouldn't."

Seventeen years has Dawn lived with her grandma in a small cozy apartment just under ground-level. This calm and eventless life gets suddenly interrupted by nan's unexpected illness, which forces Dawn to leave the life as she knows behind and attend boarding school on the other side of the state. Desperately in need of money for nan's doctor, she isn't thinking straight, letting herself get sucked into the dark world of crime.
From the suspicious bunch catches Dawn's eye the devilish smirk wearing Harry, who can't help but show his disapproval of her joining at all. But as the time spent together continues, Harry can't help but find small things in Dawn that might make her slightly more tolerable.

There was nothing going on between them outside of the normal bro-pal-laddy-dude things every other set of best friends did. All sets of best friends did things like this. You know, hanging out every day, staying up late, and chatting until the wee hours which usually ended up as a sleepover and bed-sharing. There is nothing going on between them.
That is what Harry was going to keep telling himself and everyone around them, anyway because it is the truth, after all.
