The mood shifts. Chance’s grin turns into a smirk, and the person before them could swear Chance was for once about to say something wise finally—
“Dunno! But hey, take a “Chance” with me, huhhmmm? Promise I won’t fail ya.” He flashes a finger gun, pointing it up dramatically as if he pulled the trigger and shot.
The person just stares, blinking once— twice. Before they stifle a sound, look back down at their notepad slowly, and start to scribble something more.

“Nice to see you’re here.” A deep soothing voice snaps him out of his daze, and he flinches. Not because of the sudden appearance, but because of the familiarity of his voice.
Satoru scoffs, not bothering to turn around as he bends down to pick another seashell. “Fun, you’re here too.” Sarcasm drips from his voice, moving his shoulders and arm once again to throw the seashell into the ocean, the waves washing over the object and sucking it in, bringing it into its embrace of a hug, as it disappears into dark depths of the sea— or wherever the waves to wish to take it. Satoru wishes to be that shell right now.

Satoru had his sunglasses off, sitting on his head. His light-blue eyes that Suguru adored so much sparkled at him, his lips the prettiest smile as he started to rant without a break about the stingray, and Suguru can feel his world slow down– his heartbeat going at a fast rate and he’s unsure if hes dying or not.
Shit.
His eyes slowly darted over Satoru's lips, they’d feel soft, he bets. Satoru words drown out as Suguru couldn’t look away— he wanted more than nothing to walk over and kiss him to shut him up.

He can hear loud thumps in his chest, and he swears his heart just skipped a beat.
Nonononooo— Satoru was just a friend- he was just a friend just a fucking–
He’s screaming internally inside, his eyes softening and widening slowly as he’s absolutely speechless.

Noob tried to laugh but it came out wrong, tangled somewhere between strained and feigned, like it hadn’t been fully thought through before leaving their mouth. “Yeah, well. Um—surprise?”
But Guest didn’t share that reaction.
For a second, it halted completely, staring back at the host with a look that wasn’t as unreadable as usual. It was caught between confusion, fluster, and disbelief with its brows drawn in tight, stare narrowing marginally like it wasn’t sure it had heard correctly.
Noob internally felt the same way, honestly.

What were they talking about???
