Summary
"Your belly…" Eddie sighs.
"God, Buck. At the barbecue, when your shirt rode up and you laughed like you were glowing from the inside out, beer in one hand,I couldn’t take my eyes off you. I didn’t want the party. I wanted this. I wanted to press my face right here…" He does exactly that, lays a kiss just beneath Buck’s navel, then another, then licks a broad, wet stripe across his lower stomach. Buck trembles.
"…And kiss the sunlight off you." Eddie grinds down, his cock still trapped in shorts, Buck’s skin hot beneath him, and moans into the contact, overwhelmed.
"I could come just like this." He breathes. "Grinding on your belly, tasting your skin, feeling you under me. You make me lose every fucking thought, Buck. You make me ache."Or, Tommy makes remarks about Buck’s body, which leads Buck to start skipping meals, hoping to slim down. But Eddie steps in and shows Buck just how much he truly loves the way Buck looks now.

Summary
“Dad,” Chris called, and when there was no response he pushed it open. “Dad, you have to drive me to—”
His dad was there, still asleep, laying with most of his face smushed in his pillow and looking dead to the world. Also there, half-sitting up and tugging the covers up to his neck, was Buck.
“—school,” Chris finished, looking at Buck. Buck looked back, his eyes wide and frantic. For a couple of seconds they both just looked at each other.
“Hi, Buck,” he said. “Um.”
“Heeey, Chris,” Buck said. His voice cracked a little on the hey, which would probably have been funny under any other circumstance.

Buck squeezes them closer together, pulling Eddie more into his broad chest. Eddie’s shoulders feel like they’re made to curl into the curve made from Buck holding him. Buck digs his nose into the crown of his head, feeling each long strand and not caring at all if the ends poke him or end up making him uncomfortable.

Or, Buck and Eddie have a soft morning together in bed.

“Hey!” Buck says brightly, completely oblivious to Eddie’s irritation. His voice is filled with excitement as he continues. “Did you know that the ancient Greeks used tattoos to communicate among spies? They—”
“You didn’t do the dishes,” Eddie interrupts, not trying to hide or sugarcoat his annoyance. He’s fucking tired of this. He asked Buck to do one thing, and instead of doing it, Buck apparently went on another research binge.
Buck looks almost surprised when his eyes land on the dirty dishes, like he completely forgot they were there.
“Oh,” he says, huffing a small laugh. “Right. I got a little distracted. I’ll do them in a minute.”
“Will you?” Eddie asks with a bitter scoff, and Buck reels back slightly, clearly not having expected that reaction.
“I— Yes, I will,” Buck insists, and Eddie can’t help but scoff again.

Adriana doesn’t tell their parents that she’s going to LA. She doesn’t tell Eddie, either—or ask, for that matter.
She does ask Chris, and he thinks it’s a good idea—says as much, on the phone, and doesn’t say much else.
“Buck will probably be hovering,” is what Chris does volunteer.
It still surprises her when the man who opens the door is not Eddie. It’s—Captain America, is the thing that actually comes to mind—a man close to a foot taller than she is, if not more than that, with blond curls and broad shoulders, and he’s got a question in his very blue eyes that’s probably less friendly than the one he actually asks her.
“Uh,” he says. “Can I help you?”
—
Or: Adriana arrives in LA. Maddie has been here the whole time.

“I think it might be time for you to go.”
“What—why?” Buck asked.
“You’re a freshman, Buck,” Eddie accentuated the syllables of his name. “You shouldn’t really be here.”
“I have just as much a right to be here as you do.” Buck argued, adjusting himself so he was standing up perfectly straight. Making himself bigger. He was taller than Eddie, he noticed.
So why did he still feel so small standing next to him?

What she doesn’t know is that Buck and Eddie have been secretly married for two years, their rings tucked away to protect Eddie’s hard-won privacy.
But when a close call on a gasoline-soaked highway forces their relationship into the light, the 118 discovers just how far Eddie will go to keep his promise to protect Buck—not just as a soldier, but as a husband.

“Did you ever go to Hershey?”
“What?” Eddie asked, thrown. “Why would I go to Hershey without you?” he asked, picking up a dish towel and drying off the plates in in the drying rack.
“When you were younger, I mean,” Buck clarified. “For your ballroom dancing.”
“I think I would—” Eddie paused on his way to grab a new plate, thinking. He met Buck’s face with an equally confused expression and said, “actually, now that you’re saying it . . . yeah.” He looked surprised by his own answer. “Yeah, Tara and I went our junior year. Damn, I can’t believe I forgot about that.”
“I think we met.”

In 2008, an unlikely interaction occurred; in 2025, Buck remembers.

“You did nothing wrong,” Eddie says, words firm but gentle. He needs Buck to know that, to understand nothing he did when he was four—god, he was four, so little and so new to the world and already having these terrible thoughts—would equate to his father’s attempt of murdering Buck for some twisted reason they may never know. “Absolutely nothing. God, Buck, no parents should hurt their kid, let alone try and kill them. You couldn’t have done anything wrong. You were four, Buck. Four."
“I existed, Eddie,” Buck whispers, “That was enough for them to hate me; enough for my father to try and kill me. Because I existed.”

So they just don't tell anyone else Buck is back. For over two years. Even when they start dating.

The Buckley parents crash Maddie and Chimney's baby shower. It goes as well as you expect it to.
**
"Well," Margaret sniffed after taking another long drink from her glass, "Evan gave away the rights to the child he helped bring into the world already."
"I didn't have any rights, Mom," Buck replied through gritted teeth. "I just helped out a couple of friends who wanted to be parents."
"And besides," Margaret continued, as though Buck hadn't spoken, "with his new...romantic preferences, it would be impossible."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Buck asked, voice raised.
"There are other ways to have a child, Mom," Maddie said. "It's 2025, for Christ's sake."
"Still," their mother huffed, picking up the wine glass in front of her, "Evan can't keep a relationship longer than 6 months. Maybe if he wasn't so hard to love, he could keep somebody that actually wanted him."

Summary
"Does that change anything? For you?" he asks. "That I'm not straight? That I want you?" he adds, unsure of whether their faces grow closer because he's swaying that way, or because of the light pressure of Buck's forearm at the back of his neck, steering him. "That I've always wanted you? That I'm finally ready?" Buck's pupils grow larger, lips parting - so Eddie continues. Just for the hell of it. "That I'm ready to kiss you until I can't breathe? That I'm ready to go to bed and wake up with you? That I'm ready to call you my partner? For real? The way I think we've always kind of meant it?"
Eddie leans even closer, savoring the warm exhale washing over his own parted lips before he dodges Buck's, craning his neck until he's lowering his voice against the shell of his ear instead.
"That I'm ready to know how much bigger your beautiful cock gets when you're all hard and leaking for me?"

The table was crowded, everyone digging in, conversations overlapping. Eddie and Hen were arguing about some documentary, Chim was telling Ravi a ridiculous story from before his probationary days, and Buck was half-listening to all of it, happily stuffing his face.
"Buck, pass the salt?" Bobby asked, not looking up from his plate.
Without thinking, Buck grabbed it and handed it over. "Here you go, Dad."
