Dan Heng blinks his eyes at Kafka’s words. At first, he didn’t know why Kafka suddenly visited the Astral Express and for a moment he thought the Stellaron Hunters were going to cause trouble again since that’s what they always do anyway only for him to hear that Blade is in heat.
“What?” Dan Heng questions. “And what does that have anything to do with me?” he wonders.
“Because you’re the only one who can help. You’re the one he needs, he keeps calling out the name Yinyue-Jun in his room. I believe he still thinks you’re his alpha as Dan Feng was to Yingxing, especially at times like this. He’s not in the right state of mind,” Kafka replies calmly with the familiar gentle smile on her face while having her arms crossed despite how crazy the situation sounds right now.
“That’s ridiculous,” Dan Heng remarks.

“I’ll leave you with the guards. They’ll look after you until your dad gets there.”
“I can’t talk to strangers.”
“What am I, then?”
“That was an emergency. Also, you’re not a stranger anymore.” Megumi blinks. “You’re Suguru.”
Suguru fights the urge to slam his head against the pole in the middle of the train carriage. Instead, he says: “Can I talk to your dad?”
Megumi loses his dad on the train, and finds a certain tall, raven-haired man instead.

Suguru frowns. “I’m not lying.”
“It’s our first time properly being apart since we started seeing each other. You’re allowed to be upset.”
“I know that.” Suguru acquiesces. “But you aren’t, so why would I be?”
“We don’t have to be feeling the same things all the time. I know you. I know you’re finding this hard.” Satoru’s voice is softer, now. Not a whisper, but something close — like he’s admitting to some sort of vulnerability. Suguru’s vulnerability. “Don’t hide it from me.”
Suguru inhales sharply, leaning back in his seat and pinching the bridge of his nose. “Fine. It is hard. But I know it shouldn’t be, so just — it’s fine. I’ll manage.”
For the first time since getting together with Suguru, Satoru leaves home.

The bouncer is a large man, almost wider than the width of the double doors, gold framed and all sleek glass, his face unimpressed as he blocks Suguru’s passage.
He pulls out two cards, huffing as he lets Suguru look at them, the neon lights from the clubs all around bright enough to illuminate what's on them. “What's the message?” He grunts.
Suguru glances at them. One of them depicts a headless lamb, pierced with five swords. The other card displays a woman, hanging from a tree, a bitten apple in her left hand.
She swallows. “Loss of innocence,” Suguru forces herself to speak normally, looking at the bouncer straight in the eyes. “Death of ignorance.”
The massive man nods, like he’d expected the answer. “Pass,” he says, and steps aside to let Suguru in, pushing the doors open for her.
