Another grumble but Jay liked the way this one seemed to reverberate in the tiny amount of space between them. But Orange shifted - not moving away - until they were chest-to-chest, encircled in each other's arms. Not quite a hug but the world fell away anyway.
Shrunk down to just the two of them and the ache in Orange's blue eyes. Seeing him without his sunglasses on felt like a privilege he hadn't earned. Maybe he would have come out here no matter who else was here but Jay couldn't quite convince himself of it when they were this close.

Rumor has it that pro gamer Kenny Omega even stops in from time to time. Orange Cassidy runs Cat Cafe, I Guess but don't surprised if the owner is napping when you walk in. Swerve's House will have you in your best fit faster than you can say "Whose House?" Need to grab a quick snack? Head to Eddie's Bodega. If your usual music isn't quite doing it for you? A couple of shops over from Eddie's, you'll find Platinum Max Records. The owner will find you something new to groove to.
Oh, that place? That's Catalyst Flowers. I recommend some earplugs if you wander in and be warned that the owner is allergic to wearing a shirt.

His fingers curled into the fabric of Jay's shirt as the door closed behind them and Orange forced himself to breathe.
