It took Shane a long time to see it, wasn’t truly aware until they let themselves be together for real: if Ilya asks Shane to jump, Shane will say yes, but if Shane asks Ilya to jump, Ilya will ask how high? The rush of power Shane gets from this knowledge is better than flying down the ice with the puck on his stick.
It’s better than winning the Stanley Cup.

Shane could only nod. He knew he looked dopey but he didn't care.
ie. Shane and Ilya get roasted by the Centaurs about being codependent but they make a game out of putting some space between them (a sexy game obvs.)
